Cotton Club

The Cotton Club is an iconic piece of New York City’s musical history, with roots in the jazz and swing era of 1920s Harlem. I loved photographing the club in the evenings, especially on swing nights when locals filled the dance floor and the room came alive with music, movement, and personality. It was a glimpse into a side of New York where the energy of old Harlem still felt very much alive.
